Hello from Gávea Shopping,RJ.This was one of the first malls in Rio.I remember visiting when very young.Probably the city was very small and crowded and was enough for our need,changing our time and opening for a billionaire market of shopping centers in town.It´s size is one of ours today,in Rio but is modern,cuilt,cultured and that time the merchants didn´t have kids or young to sell and stores for them.The stores keep old Rio and just one place more that changed our huge culture that time. I watched my favourite play at his theatre,SALTIMBANCOS,a kids play and music,taped by one of ours most famous singer,Chico Buarque.It´s a lovely play and theatre with many kids at the vocals and many music dedicated for all of the crew who taped this record. Was famous the donkey,the chicken,the dumb donkey who only worked,ió ió! And made others actors and musics that made this very known here,just like a melody and childhood play obeyed for all the cultured citizens. Seems very simple but is hard to find good stuffs today.Was a perfect record and play,not junkying a single note or letter. I think he knew junk was about to come and dedicated this record to his most lovely and only one time childhood,the famous Saltimbancos. He has others great success just like that,but never met all the record and entire understanding just like this record. Don´t miss it!

If you aren't into a large mall and looking for something with a bit more local flair, this place delivers. It was certainly a local mall and every shop was charming. As an American, I felt very safe and welcome here.

Okay... nothing special buy there are some nice stores etc. The area is not so happening but there are some stores which are good and even a bar which has live music, though the food isn't good. For those in Gávea its a shopping mall worth checking out, especially if it's raining.
